Ah Don Sundquist... The man who decimated Tennessee's health care system, raised sales taxes to nearly 10%, and left a huge mess for the Democratic governor to clean up...

WHO BETTER TO HEAD UP AN ADVISORY PANEL ON MEDICAID???

It is now nearly impossible for people to get health care here in Tennessee (unless they can afford private, which nobody can). There are over 300,000 people in this state that are about to be dropped off the Tenncare rolls. Tenncare was Sundquist's bright idea that replaced Medicaid. It is a collossal failure.

There is currently a lot of debate on this disaster we call a public health system, and the Democratic governor is taking a lot of heat for it. There are sit in protests at the governor's office and everyone's really angry. Personally I don't think the problem is fixable, but I hope I'm wrong. Regardless, Sundquist went at this state's health care system with a sledgehammer. We should assume, if given a chance, he will do the same to the entire country.

Sundquist ran this state straight into the ground. I believe this is another attempt by Bush to destroy something by appointing someone certain to screw it up.  (ala Bolton to the UN, Thomason to PBS, etc).  Look for Sundquist to also get a nomination for a higher position some time in the near future.
